Well, I must be doing something right, because my hard work is starting to pay off here at @run-a-muck-farms! It gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling when I go out to check the gardens and see a bunch of little red goodness popping out all over the beds! I mean, just look at them!

My little 3D printed strawberry racks are doing a great job keeping the berries out of the dirt, I just need to keep printing more of them as the plants spread out.

I only went for the ones that were nice and red with very little white left on them. That’s when you know they are ripe! These aren’t huge strawberries by any means, but then again I am also not pumping them with a bunch of GMO bull crap either.

This is all a learning thing for me at this point, so I had to look up the best way to harvest them and everything told me to clip them, leaving a bit of stem on it to help with freshness, but that’s not much of a worry because they will be gone soon enough, lol. So I did what I was told anyway.

I want to go ahead and get all the ripe ones out of the way so that the plants can concentrate their energy on producing new berries. So you don’t go with the whole bunch, you just clip the ripe ones out of the way.

Like I said, they aren’t huge by any means, but they taste better than any berry I have ever bought from a grocery store! This just tells me now, that I need more strawberry plants, haha! I have all my plants out in the garden, but may end up getting some to try in the greenhouse again, but in my hydroponics tower, to see what kind of output I can get and compare.

So here I am, celebrating the first little victory with you from the homestead garden! I am figuring out how to work with different plants, but I want to find something like strawberries to put a bunch of my focus into for income production along with eggs. The rest is just pretty much for me and the family to eat, at least for now, lol!

Until next time…

Keep being ungovernable, grow fresh food, and just enjoy your life!
